This weekend I rebuilt the t90 in my 62 wagon. After reassembly and installation it has an odd problem. While in reverse, pushing the clutch makes the vehicle stop violently.

It's too late to do anything else tonight. I plan on pulling the top and checking the forks etc tomorrow. Hoping for something obvious and simple.

I won't get a chance to drop it again till this next weekend, but I'm hoping to get some suggestions/ideas.

Thanks

Welcome aboard. Sounds like you defiantly have a problem. Make sure you don't have something hanging up in your brakes. I had a lining on a rear shoe several jeeps ago that came loose and would hang when backing up. Worked fine in forward. Good luck.

Thanks Shovelhead,
Great suggestion. And I really appreciate the quick response. Hopefully I get off work with enough light (&energy) to check into that tonight.
Thanks again!

Welcome to the forum, LostCoast. There's another forum member out of Fortuna (UAL). I grew up in Eureka; dad is from out past Bridgeville. That's a beautiful corner of the world. Again, welcome.

Thanks Scramboleer,
Small world! I'm now in Fortuna, -went to school in Ferndale, (but lived out in Petrolia.) Glad to hear from someone familiar with the area!
Thanks again,

Hey everyone, -Just wanted to follow up since I never posted after figuring out the problem. ..
-the issue turned out to be a misaligned throwout bearing. When I stabbed the tranny back into the bellhousing, the input shaft must have bumped the throwout bearing just enough to pop one of the retainer springs off the clutch fork.
Clipped the throwout bearing back on and (carefully) slipped the tranny back in. Been my daily ever since.

Glad it was an easy fix... thanks for the update.
