Ken’s Peacock Blue ‘62

Actually had cleaned and painted the fuel tank awhile back but recently ordered a sending unit and wood blocks from Walcks.
Got some rainy day garage work in yesterday and installed the tank .
Can‘t seem to find the pre-bent fuel lines for the Tornado trucks so guess I’ll be bending some .

That’s all folks

Scored a winch and bumper on Facebook a couple of months back .
Although heavy … who doesn’t like the look of a PTO winch and another shift lever to play with .
The seller was located in Chester Ca. And nice enough to hold it for me until the snows melted and I could plan fishing trip to Lake Almanor ( one of my favorite trout lakes )

The guy had an early Chester fire Department Dodge truck that was in mint condition ( for its age )

Couple of fishing pics or it didn’t happen

Not sure what color to paint the bumper but I’m thinking black …

Removed the winch from the bumper . Had some surface rust on the bottom side so I wire brushed it and painted it with a rust inhibitor. Next I’ll primer and paint it
Looks like it was originally silver but I’m thinking semi-gloss black .

I now have two of the Koenig winches …
( picked one up a year ago with the PTO )
Are there any real differences in the two ?

Decided to go cheap on the paint .
Would love to do a high dollar original color paint job but Its really not in the budget .
I had a 69 CJ a few years back that I painted this color and really liked how it came out . I think goes good with white and black .

Ken I would be a liar if I said I wasn't a little disappointed in forgoing the Peacock Blue. However; I, like others, am interested to see where it all goes! Your truck will definitely be done before mine at this rate.

I hear ya … never say never !

The deal is the body I’m working with is in pretty nice shape but it does have it’s battle scars.
I’m not a body or paint guy so I would have to pay someone to do those items and although nice to look at personally I’m not sure I can afford or if it’s even financially practical .
My end goal is an original looking , dependable work truck .
The ” to do list “ is still quite extensive but putting body parts on ( working on the bed as we speak ) helps keep the juices flowing for sure .
