Where was your Willys today?

Well, the 2nd mud hole in the woods was way bigger (no picture of #2, my camera slid into the back somewhere and I was running out of time at that point) but this one still swallowed my truck up just fine! I thought it was just a grassy field. Oops. Good thing I have that 12k winch on the front with a LOT of cable. It's probably spooled out 50' in that picture. I did have an issue with it popping out of it's engaged position as soon as it got a heavy load on it, so I had to hold the lever in place as I ran the winch. Not a big fan of being that close to the cable and what not. I'll have to tear it down and see why it keeps disengaging.

Take it apart, see how it works, make it stop... that's what us engineers would do...

Getting stuck in the mud is not everybody's idea of a good time, but you were probably having fun.

It would have been more fun if I wasn't on a time crunch for my unplanned detour, but since I made it home on time still, I'll chalk it up as a fun time!

Yup, I'm an engineer too. I'll have it apart soon enough. Well... eventually anyways...

Hmmmmmm ...... not exactly mud tires. Probably wouldn't have mattered though, that mud looks deep.

I always like the pics that Dan posts in the “ vintage Willy’s pictures “ of old Willy’s vehicles in parking lots and in traffic so I took a shot of my wagon on a recent dog food run .

A perfect snowy Sunday morning, a healthy breakfast drink for strength and a view of 5 Willys jeeps. #6 is in my garage getting a new Saturn OD.

You gotta look pretty hard to find the fourth and fifth, but yep they're there. Along with the appropriate lubricant, this is a great pic.

Had today off and worked on the wagon a bit. Want to say thanks to a couple of members - Willys55 and Gremlinjeep who hooked me up with the panels that I was missing. The OWF is an awesome resource for anything Willys!!! Got the door panels painted and installed. Even had time to take in a few back roads.

Getting "Big Patty" loaded.

Jethrine only went around the block to test the tie-downs on "Big Patty" but the loading procedure was a big deal.
With new springs and shocks, Jethrine barely squatted when Patty hit the deck. I do plan to take it easy going around corners :)

We're going to the local Artistry in Wood Show next week and am looking forward to being a spectacle in the parking lot.

Hi Butch, What Brian said! Nice work on the Willys AND the Carving! I'm a Custom Woodworker also on the side. I do some Small Stuff, mostly do Custom Cabinetry, Decks etc to Remodels and entire Home Renovations. Tie that 'Big Foot' Down really good! Pivnic

Cruised the Ave today. Visited for a minute with a "relic" who's owner unfortunately has no intention of "reclaiming". Sad to see a willys consigned to permanent billboard duty, but it is what it is i guess... a few years ago my wagon was buried in berries... had a great day exploring the forest with my daughter and even discovered another albino redwood tree (they're pretty rare).
