Hi guys, I had my build super well documented and in order on Cardomain, HERE http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2415963/1957-willys-wagon/

They screwed it all up. I feel the need to post this since some many folks are contacting me about it lately. I'll try and keep it shorter than my last build thread, yet coherent enough to follow. There are so many images, I'm bound to get some out of order. Good luck following along!

First test fit after lengthening the TJ frame 12.25" She was a roller on the first weekend!

Carnage

Sunset on the first weekend, donors body put onto a 4cyl frame I found. Sold that one off for some cash to put back in the project

Me younger with more hair roughly 9 years ago.

I had alot of help that first weekend. I built the majority of this at my brothers house in hesperia. Thats 90 miles from where I lived at the time. The build slowed down. This is what I got done the second weekend

Then I made body mounts from 2x4 .120 wall tube.

Frame was cut off behind the axle hump and extended. It was short and too low before.

I used the TJ radiator. This is how I mounted it after trimming back the shroud.

Hanging TJ pedals. These 2 holes correspond.

This is how I built it all by myself with no lift. I must have rolled thatthing in and out 50 times.

More on the mounts

Battery Mounts

Notched frame to clear body

Firewall doubler (upside down

Sand blasted and bedlinered

I conned my brother into helping me blast

engine lift 2"

Belly pan

My pics are out of order, so I'll just post as I find them. First trip to moab

Closer to what she looks like today

Made a hammer form to turn this flange. I later used this as an air intake for the engine.

Rubber floors and sound deadening

for the bottom of the belts. Mounted them behind the panel. These came from a dodge stratus or 300 if I remember correctly

Vacuum actuated

Wanted to keep the TJ wire harness in its entirety. Even the cool twist in bulb sockets.

Hi Casey. What did you use to fill the cracks in your steering wheel? How it lasting? Pivnic

stock TJ air con and heater. This thing is huge!! No way to fit this thing without removing the dash.

Pedals and TJ wiper motor

4wd shifter

Firewall, booster, clutch slave and hole for harness. stock tj firewall doubler whittled down and glued in place on the inside. also has gas pedal mount in stock TJ location

gas pedal notched and welded for more angle. The Willys floor has a large section of floor at 45 degrees that the TJ does not

ECU placement

made a gas cap to fit the TJ filler

I couldnt fathom putting large plastic pieces under the hood, so I found some Rover parts. Coolant overflow, and air cleaner.

I did most of this build 90 miles from my home, carting my tools and supplies both ways in my little ford escort. I worked under a tarp in the dirt, and sometimes on the driveway.

Moved the project to my one car garage in this trailer. Had to remove the rear springs and flatten the tires to fit

a pic from inside the one car garage

Pivnic, I used the regular pink bondo. Its cracking again. I'm sure there is a better material that bonds better.

Glad to see this build again. I remember following along as you were still building this in the later stages.
Least the images are all still there and can link to them here in the posts. That is how the first part of my thread is done.
Pivnic needs to do his next. ;)
