Willys Model
Willys Year:
Does anyone here take their Willys on light trails and such? I'd like to see something if ya do. My engine rebuild has been postponed again, but eventually I'll be back in business. Not a lot of trails around here, but when i'm runnin' I'll certainly be on the couple that do exist. It's nice to be able to get off the pavement for some trekking every now and then. No roll bars, so nothing extreme. Just trails.

Sure all the time ...but I'm also surounded by a million acres of the Black Hills National forest in SD. It has a hundred or so miles of managed trails for jeeps, ATVs and such. I like it in the snow the best but once it's past about 10 inches deep the going gets to tough. Put the Willy's on the trailer and head to the Black hills for a great vacation. Camp right out of the back, just remember no camp fires... we love our forest.

Hey Major Tom,
I didn't realize you were in Lead, SD. I was stationed at Ellsworth for a short time. As soon as we bought a house in Rapid City (figuring we would stay) I got orders again. Gotta love it. That was back in 2002. I retired from service here in Missouri after 26 years. Now i'm workin' my arse off. So much for retiring. :) Got pictures of the wheeling??

Retired Army myself... 1973 - 1993. Yep been working every since also. I'm only part time in Lead. Got a cabin there and that's where I keep the toy's, a wagon & a pickup. Friendswood Tx is where the work and most of my time is spent but I mange to get to the Black Hills about 6 weeks a year. Real retirement is getting closer though!!!!
