Steering CAUTION something to look for

I also put this in the Tech section, but thought I would repeat it here.
I have been working on my Jeepster steering and came across something that I felt people should watch for.
As I disconnected the pitman arm from the drag link I noticed that the ball stud had wear under the ball from the tin shield holding the rubber in place. I realize that this part could be 75 plus years old, but it would pay to look at it because the consequences could be deadly. As you look at the picture, the groove is probably 20% or more worn through.
