Willys Model
Willys Year:
They sound similar, but different covers, different page numbers and different ending years:

1948-1956 Willys Jeep Pickup Station Wagon Shop Manual at:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1948-195 ... 53e2fec907
Says 326 pages for '48 - '56 Willys

or:
1946-1964 Jeep Utility Vehicles 4WD/2WD Trucks, Wagons, Utility Delivery Vehicles at:
http://www.themotorbookstore.com/smutility.html
Says 274 pages for '46 - '64 Willys

I couldn't find another one, just these two. And not saying I'm buying from either one of these vendors, I just used them as examples.

The manual you found on eBay looks to be a reprint of the original factory manual. I have a used original I found on eBay and it has the same orange cover and 326 pages. I'm not sure about the other manual. It could also be a reprint but I don't know.

Luck,
Old Willy

Brian, the best "useable" manual i've found (and I've had a few) is the MECHANICS MANUAL. They are availabele from Willys America and Kaiser Willys. I haven't checked, but I would bet that Walcks has them as well.

Interesting...

Kaiserwillys shows a manual for 50-64 truck and wagon
http://www.kaiserwillys.com/product/168 ... icsmanuals

Walcks shows a manual for 1950-56 Pick Up Truck, Station Wagon, Sedan Delivery, and Jeepster, 326 pages.
http://www.walcks4wd.com/Product/Repair ... k-Up-/4188
The ebay manual is 326 pages too...

Weird, right?

I'm sure Willys America sells one too, but I couldn't find it on their site, even with a search engine. I did already order their parts manual and restoration guide:
http://www.willysamerica.com/catalog/index.html

I guess I'm leaning toward the Walcks' manual as it is more year specific and 326 pages is a fairly good sized manual and Walcks should be just a bit more reliable for accuracy than say a vendor from ebay.

Yeh, you're right; Walcks is definitely a better (and more reliable) source than ebay. There are so many different manuals out there, so just make sure you ask for the Mechanics Manual. Oh, and Willys America doesn't put any of their stuff on line. You have to call.
Well good luck with which ever way you go with it.
Steve

Thanks all. I ordered the one from Walcks. And I saved $2.62 because I'm a forum member. Thanks Pete!

I have the manual like the one from Walck's,got it on Ebay. It's good enough but, being a copy some of the original photos or drawings are slightly blurry. Some descriptions of repairs take for granted you are familar with mechanical procedures on Willys and skip the obivious.

The book that claims to cover 46-64 covers 46-62. The Willys company didn't make any major drive train changes in those years so the book covers both motors that were used in that era. They do not cover the 6-230 OHC engine used in 63-4 so the title is misleading.
