One of "Nelson's" upgrades from a PO was the installation of Stewart Warner gauges

I suppose they're okay, but I prefer the original "look", so I got a cluster from Montana Overland (a really great place to shop) and had it recalibrated and modified to my spec's at Auto Instruments in Virginia ( http://www.autoinstruments.com ). I had them convert the ameter to a volt meter. The 0 in the center will be 14 volts dc. The temp gauge has been recalibrated to be 180* at center scale. The speedo, fuel, and oil pressure gauges were calibrated and in the case of the speedo, it was rebuilt/calibrated. I had originally contacted Classic Instruments to redo the cluster but they wanted $750 per gauge. Now my folks may have raised me dumb, but not stupid!! 5 x $750 could buy me a whole 'nuther Willys. Auto Instruments charged $630 for the whole works

Now, this is the mess I have to contend with :x

That is cool. Like the look of a set of clean original gauges. Wiring is a mess, but at least there is a fuse block to start with.

That looks really, really nice, Lee. I was looking to get a set of instruments taken care of as well, but at a price of over $400 per gage, decided to wait. I think I'll check out your guys. Thanks for the info.

The guy to talk to, at Auto Instruments, is Gentry Zentmeyer. He and I talked at length before I sent him the cluster. He asked all kinds of questions about what I wanted to do before I even sent him the cluster so that there was no doubt about what to do, then when he received the cluster, he called with an estimate before starting the project. A very pleasant fellow to deal with and very comfortable at his trade. I'm more than satisfied
