nos speedo gear in box, what is it for?

DSC07821 - Edited.JPG does any one know what this is to? part number A-1512 speed gear? thank you;)
 
It's the gear the speedo worm gear drives in the transfer case. they are matched sets to the ring and pinion ratios. The speedo cable slips in the shaft end. There is a cap bolt with 2 sets of threads on it that holds it in an holds the speedo cable. diggerG
