Alright,

Casey and Pete have got the information for the 2nd Willys Wagon Truck event posted for May 14th 2011. I am getting my arse moving on progress with mine and have full intentions of making this event. I will be coming up from Colorado solo. The family is going to be staying home to finish up the last 10 days of school. Given we all have budgets I was looking into the lodging available there in Moab, and came across the KOA Lodges, sleeping 4 at about 60 bucks a night. I planned on heading out of Colorado in the early morning of the 12th to check in that day and not check out till Monday the 16th.

Bottom line is I was looking for some folks to help split up the lodging costs for this event and sit around the campfire drinkin some beers and havin some fun.

The way I figure it the earlier the reservations are made the better off we will be to not end up in a tent..... For 35 bucks a night.....

Thanks,
Eric

Let me know via email or PM

Re: KOA group??

I can't commit just yet, but gimme a few days to see if I can work it out. I'd love to go and we'd both be heading out from the same town. Another option would be to tote my little camp trailer out there, although it doesn't trail very good much past 55-60 mph.

Re: KOA group??

The more folks we can get at the same place means the more the beer we have to take into Utah with us. I talked with Kevin last night and he is in for splitting a cabin. He is planning on coming in his wagon or flying up and riding up. Either way he is in.

I'm planing on going, but I'm not sure were I'll be staying. If I get the wagon driveable by then, I'll haul it over and have to find a place to stay. If not I'll pull the fifth wheel to stay in. I hope I have the wagon ready, but I have a long way to go to be driveable :?

Terry

I honestly plan on putting mine on a trailer and taking it to Moab to toy around there. I know there are folks that will give me a hard time about it but oh well. I will get more and more brave as time driving the wagon passes. As for now lets just get a bunch of us together for a nightly party at the KOA.....
Eric

Eric, I'm up for the nightly party at the KOA  I'm just hoping to have mine driveable by then. Either way I'll be there. I'll never pass up the opportunity to drool over a bunch of old Willys all in one place.

Terry

Well, I am gonna get the reservation for the cabin done on my side for that time frame. Might do some tweaking, but it's a starting point.

I am excited and looking forward to getting together with a bunch of Willy's nuts and checking out all the different set ups.

Eric-

Can you post the contact info for the KOA? I'm in, and will make a reservation too.

Pete

Dont feel bad, I might trailer mine too. I know it will make it, but there is a comfort level that is required for a 2000 mile round trip. As you know, my drive train isnt the issue. It was loud with no seals and no iterior. Sound deadening is the largest improvement I hope to be sporting this year.

I'm down for beers! I might go the KOA rout too. This year we may have the wife and girlfriend tagging along with my brother and I. Not sure what accomadations we'll land in yet.

Casey

I checked on the hotel options and they were are outta my price range..... The KOA deal is more in my cheap arse tight budget, plus it's cheap entertainment with a cooler full of beer, camping chair, pile of fire wood, and a fire pit......

 I was thinking to myself... Damn, Casey's got it goin' on... Rubicon under his wagon. Wife and a girlfriend who get along. And they both are into Willys...

Pete

I made my reservation for KOA cabin from 5/12 thru 5/16

That covers Kevin and I, still have 1 maybe 2 spots open there.

!!!BUMP!!!

Just bumping this back on to the radar for folks that are coming to the rally in May.
Also for those still on the bubble of going or not.

If you are coming please let us know when you are planning on coming into town, your lodging location, and expected departure day. Here in this post so we can play around with our own personal plans around the itinerary for the event.

Casey Dimmitt has sent out an RSVP request to the folks that have shown interest in going this year. Please take the time to respond so that he can have all the nitty gritty details for everyone.

Thanks,

Now get back to work so your truck or wagon is ready for this event.
