Just bought the Donor for my Willys PU

Just a minute ago I just bought my donor over the net on a live auction 2000 kms away!

WK Jeep Grand Cherokee 2009 with a 5.7 litre V8 HEMI!

That should be a fun project to put in a Willys body!

Gojeep - congrats on scoring your donor! I'm curious what all you're planning to use since the WK wheelbase is 8.5" shorter than the Willys? That Hemi should move your truck pretty nice!

Well seeing there is no chassis under the Grand, it makes no difference what it is.
Everything will be used inside and out in a widened Willys cab and fully boxed chassis.

Just read the mileage on it for the first time and it has only done a bit over 20,000 miles!

Not enough strait on frontal impact to trigger the air bags. If you have ever been in a car where they go off, they are not nice and gentile. The engineers figured out that unless there is a lot of forward energy to absorb that all they were doing triggering airbags was beating the stuffing out of people.

It also missed the frame rail completely at the front as seen here.

Would have thought though that the first side impact would have set off the side curtain ones though?

I agree about the side curtain going off, that could not have felt good for the driver................... hey the wheel is on the wrong side.

Agreed. When I rang the old owner he actually thought I was from Jeep and wanting to know more about the accident to investigate why they had not gone off. If he can break 5 ribs from the side impact, think it should mean it is hard enough to deploy them!
