Just curious.
The last five numbers coinside with the 1949 model 33305 to 44062 which means yours rolled of the assembly line #7469 out of 10757 in 1949 if it is the standard 4X4 pickup truck and the foot note: (14) According to the serial number ranges, the unit totals are understated by one.usmced said:So are these production years or model years. Your serial number fall past the half way point, made in 48' but sold in 49' probably as over stocked item. You have to consiter between the 4 plants they cranked out all versions for that year. If you take the average made in that year for all categories, you can figure the half way point on any year being sold in the following year. Most all car mfg's do this to keep workers working, plants open and dealers in stock.usmced said:kramwit said:My bad, I thought you had a truck and was looking at truck s/n. you are correct that it is a 48'
My bad also..should have mentioned I have a Wag.. So back to the question i asked previously... Does the doc state production year or model year.. Either mine is titled correct at 49" (manufactured in 48") or Pete's is really a 61'... doesn't change the fact that I have round wheel wells and can't get replacements... :x
I'm going with mine is really a 48'..which means it was made in 47'....O great...Here i go again... I'm done..
Isn't this fun...
try the jeepsterman in my previous post. they have done well by me! :thumbupleft:usmced said:Sorry, by wheel wells i meant rear outer panels.. the rounded type. Called a few places now and no one seems to carry them.
Know of a source by chance?
