You would rather fly in a Wooden Mosquito made in Canada than a P51 Mustang, or a P38 Lightning?I’ve often said that if I had only one type of plane to fight WW2 in I would favor the Corsair for the Pacific Theater and Mosquito for the European Theater. Difficult choice between the two of them.
Goal is to win the war. Mosquito bomber was so fast it was almost never intercepted and had the range to hit about any target in Europe. Aggravated the Germans to no end. It could also be retrofitted to be a heavy fast interceptor or ground attack. It filled all niches quite well. P38 and P51 had speed and range, but had neither when hauling bombs. You would rather fly in a Wooden Mosquito made in Canada than a P51 Mustang, or a P38 Lightning?
