Willys Year:
I am a 49 year old father of 4 currently living in Wyoming. I have loved Willys wagons since I saw a 64 when I was 12 I really like the Van style back doors. My children would like windows, maybe on the next one

I moved from CO to WA in 99 I sold my 62 Willys sedan delivery project and a 61 willys pickup. Imoved back to WYin 2001 if I had known I was comming back I would have stored them. Well I just found a willys panal delivery that was advertized as a parting out 57. It looks like a 49 body on a 57 chassis. The chassis looks redone and axles rebuilt.Pody is in nice shape and it was $800 Has mounts for small block chevy engine. The guy I got it from was told that palal vans used the flat fenders in 57. Fire wall is cut up body looks nice otherwise. I need to dig through it and look at what it has in it. I thought it was be alot more than $800

I was wondering if there is a chassis number on the frame? Serial # plate is not where it belongs, may be somewhere in van. Is anybody reproducing these vin plates. I will find a parts wagon or get WY to assign a vin number to ti before I start working on it. I picked up a trailer built out of a early pickup a year or so ago and hope to find a pickup.

I got a reproduction VIN plate from kaiserwillys.com but I've seen them on e-Bay too. Some of the other Willys sites may have them as well.

My 62 frame had the serial number stamped in two places, both on the passenger side rear outside of the framerail about ten inches from the end of the frame and front on top of the frame about a foot back from the end. The rear one was much clearer stamping, not sure if it is wear on the front or whoever stamped it didn't swing as big a hammer.

Yea I got it in Colorado. Found paperwork in it showing that it is a 49 body and has been in colorado 20 plus years. I got it from a guy in parker. He is planning to sell a cj2a soon complete but disassembled. he has 3 flat fender jeeps CJ2a and CJ3a and a 60 wagen plus old military trailers etc. I hope to go through the jeep this weekend I know I need driver's glass and a rear bumper I don't know past that yet. The Willys passed emissions with a 350 engine in the 80's.

I'm glad it found a good.... My son in-law was trying to get me to buy it  He's always trying to get me in trouble with my wife. Was he wanting to sell any of the military trailers?

I think he is not selling any trailers currently. He just got a cool looking militaty tool trailer he is setting up as an expedition trailer. Who is a good parts supplyer? I plan to dig through the jeep this weekend and invantory what I got it's like an adventrure. I will ask hin if he has any extra trailers.

Welcome to the "Willys Nut-House", sorry to hear of your Willys illness...I too have it...I keep buying parts for mine hoping my fever will come down...ain't it fun? I bought my '62 out of Colorado as well and trying to have it moving for Moab in '11.
