Just a quick reminder, the emails that you receive to notify you of replies to thread or conversations on the forum are only notification emails.

You must log in to the forum to reply to threads or conversations.

Replying to the notification email only sends your reply to the administrator (me), and does not respond to the thread or conversation that you were notified about.

Every day I get a few replies to these notification emails, with the senders assuming they have responded, and then wondering why their replies didn't show up.

Again, to reply to a thread topic or conversation, you will have to do so on the forum, not via the notification emails that are automatically sent out by the forum software.

Thanks,
Pete

Bringing this back to the top. Still getting replies to notification email from various forum users on a daily basis.
Replies to topic or conversation email notifications do not post to the forum, or private conversations.

Just a quick note about email notifications- I have changed the way the forum sends notifications for subscribed topics and conversations. Previously, the content of the topic reply or conversation was included in the email notification, and this was apparently very confusing to many of the forum users. I receive replies to the notification emails on a daily basis, from users who assume that a reply to the notification email will post to the forum, which it does not...
With this change, the notification emails will now only contain a link to the topic or conversation, and we will have to follow the link to read and reply. I'm hoping this will avoid some confusion, and help keep replies from getting lost in space.
Cheers,
Pete

Any way to turn off email notifications?
Yes, click on your name in the upper right of the screen, and then click on "preferences" in the left menu. Scroll down and uncheck the items under "alert preferences" that you no longer want to receive.
