Sharpest Tool
Got my fan shroud finally. Spent last night and this afternoon getting it mounted. Here's what the original mechanical fan looked like. Not even centered on the radiator, but that's what happens with an engine swap;
So, here's the new shroud, ready to have mounting holes and nutserts installed ( I like nutserts )
Got some structural steel (galvanized) from scrap that came out of the remodelling of the dealership where I work, to make the brackets that will mount the shroud to the radiator
As you can see from this next pic, the 14" fan will cover the whole core
Here we have the fan and shroud fully installed. You'll notice how much lower (about 3") the waterpump shaft is in relation to the fan center. This fan is supposed to pull almost 2300 cfm of air. Hopefully it'll be enough for the V6
The next step in the project will be to mount the fan controller and run the wires. The inner fender will probably be where the controller will be mounted, although I don't really want to put holes in the nice sheetmetal
