Vintage Willys pictures

More from DPLA.

1. Roy Fisher's Willys Jeep dealership. Photo by Meyers Photo Shop, Oklahoma City, 1950, c/o Oklahoma Historical Society. (All I can say is "wow." Also, it looks to be later than 1950 based off the wagon the two gentlemen are leaning against.)

Betcha DiggerG has some information to share on these two Wrentham images, or -- at the very least -- has some parts in his collection that came off these Jeeps!
(Actually Sweatt Hill, also known as Knuckup Hill.)

Dan,
Nice work, as usual. Fantastic collections of images.

Who let the Toyota in the lineup? Weren’t many of those around in 1964!

That’s very cool. I have been thinking that my next trip would be to that area, it’s the backyard of where I grew up, beautiful country with lots of history.
Carter, I've been on Henness Pass road twice. If you want to camp one night visit White Lake (only time you need 4WD). Best camp spot is off the road that splits to the right side of the lake.

That picture in malakoff totally brings back memories. I grew up around there, and visit as often as I can. I used to ride the Nugget Ride, a 50 mile horse race that starts and ends at the diggings. Lots of really good dirt roads to explore there. Great picture

I love the wheels on the soil consultant's CJ5. Need some in 6 lug that cost less than my entire project budget.[emoji848]

Per Google translate: "
1955 was a very important year in Korean automobile history. It was the year in which the companies that became the mother of our automobile industry were founded.

The International Vehicle Factory was founded by Choi Moo-sung and his brothers. It was the first vehicle made in Korea, and the starting car familiar to us was born. It was made using jeep parts and drums that were scrapped from US troops. It was so bad that it used a tent house to produce tea."
