A friend who also has a Willys wagon was gifted these lens covers and couldn't use them because he has aftermarket LED headlights so....... he gifted them to me. Don't know where they came from or how they got the Willys logo on them but I think they're way cool , a bit of '50s era custom. Since I'm a child of the '50s (born in 1944) I had to use them , I love the look. IMG_0064.JPGIMG_0065.JPGIMG_0066.JPG

Sorry not for me......i .would not want to lose any of the available light output by covering up any portion of the headlight bulb....

Looks to me that either....those were taken off something else and stuck on there.....or......those were handmade individually and then stuck on there...

....reason i say this is because when you zoom in on the bottom pic,.... and look at the logo .......you will see the W is not perfectly symmetrical but has a uneven valley on one side and the centering spacing is off at the bottom....if this was a factory made piece everything would be perfect ....

a quick search reveals the cats eye headlight covers but plain with no embellishments of any kind...

so i am gunna say it was a custom addition ....handmade or otherwise....

I agree - great look but I'm even more interested to see what's attached to those parts sticking up, out out of the hoid!
Bill,
The parts sticking up out of the hood are attached to a 5.3 LS and 4L60 transmission , but since it is EFI , sadly the carbs and scoop are only “fluff”9B99FC45-D59F-43B6-BACF-604D78CBC810.jpeg2D7D5E80-D4CA-458D-9195-A34171D7B1AA.jpeg

so that is all for Show and no Go..

Larry.

Regarding the “GO” I’ll guarantee you that the 5.3 with 4:10 gears in the 3200 lb. wagon has all the go this old man needs, will absolutely fry the tires in first two gears. Oh yeah ! and it gets 17 mpg around town it’s driven every day.

17 MPG..??

Damn ...i'd kill to get that in my 51 truck with 5.7 350. TBI ...700R4 .... NP208.......91 suburban axles...3.42 gear ratio.....right now i see bout 10 in the city and 12 on the highway...been told the SBC...were supposedly good for at least 15 in town and 17 on the highway....be Damned if i ever get close to see that......
i mean with the 3.42 gears and the 700R4 overdrive ..turning 2500 rpm at 70......i would think i could do better then i am.....however i am running larger 33' tires so that has to be a factor in it somewhere.....piss poor mileage is main reason i am going to install a larger 30+ gallon tank to increase fuel range...this stopping every 150 miles..( .Full to Empty) for fuel is pure B.S....hoping to do this after the First or so and in plenty of time ahead of Moab this year....Maybe..??........I Hope..!!

Those are awesome in my opinion. They surely are home made, old school, and i think look great on your wagon.

I am guessing with 33 ft tires you are doing pretty good

yes,'.....that is supposed to read as 33 inches....but you know what I meant...if I could see 15 mpg I would be happy....truck is getting a bigger tank in the near future to compensate so I don't got to stop so often....cause I can't afford to swap engines to say a LS 13 or what ever they are up to now.... I am simply running with what it came with....it works.... not broke.. ( yet....!!).....ain't fixing it. !!
