Does it count if you rang the operator (in Bayfield WI) and asked for your great grandparents by name because they didn't have a "phone number".
Later they had a party line.
Then they got there own number.

I still remember our " number " for the crank party line phone on the wall,,,,, 4 short rings and one long.

Anybody remember this one? Sometimes found on the back of the comic books next to Charles Atlas and the Cloverine Salve. I'm pretty sure no kid ever actually talked to a satellite with it!
