Just wondering if anyone has any ideas where I can get some front bottom cab corners. Mine are all mangled and I would like to start the body work on a great little truck.

Thanks for any help.

Gordon

Good luck. Most are rotten. Start with the usual web searches. Ebay, Willys for Sale, Willys America, Midwest Willys, etc. You might take a stab at making your own!

If someone's cab has those corners in good shape it's probably a good cab and on a good looking FC. Sorry gordon....

So there used to be a guy called "metalshaper" on youtube that made corners. Not sure if he still does.
Here is one of his videos:

I thought I read somewhere that the corners for a 50-64 Chevy truck were close.
I'm sure if you do a search for FC cab corners on this site you'll get more hits.

Thanks all for the replies. I sent the metalshaper a message. Hope he is still around?

I was just told the 46 to 53 chevy cab corners (pick up) are REALLY close to the FC rear corners. You may need to massage them a bit with an english wheel but it should save you from having to sandbag any metal for hours on end. My body guy just ordered them for my 1960 170 cab rebuild. He said it saved me sbout $2k in custom fab work. $38.99 each from Summit Racing. The part number is 480-4047-R (or L). Hope this helps someone!

Thanks Just ordered a set, cannot be worse than what I have LOL

sorry for the delay. Here are both corners being fitted & welded in place. Keep in mind, on my FC I am filling in all the panel lines with welds

We are carrying that stepped flange on the cut outs (that are directed towards the frame rails) across the bottom of the rear cab wall.

These are the Summit Racing chevy truck cab corners I mentioned above. For $38.99 each you can't beat it. Save you forearm strength from sandbagging some sheet metal! Curvature lines up REALLY nice both in the rear & on the sides.

1948 to 55 Chevy/GMC pickup cab corners are very close to the right shape. You will need to cut/massage them but they are a good starting point..... and less than 40 bucks at Summit racing, PN:

Auto Metal Direct Cab Corners 480-4047-L (and R)

No videos I am aware of, aside from that talented fabricator on Youtube who creates cornrrs from a sheet. The corners that Summit sells work amazingly well, considering that before this info came out (part numbers for the Summit parts), everyone was looking at BIG money to have corners fabricated as one-offs…..

Fortunately I have a friend rectifying my cab issues, who is very talented at fabricating. He LOVES the 4 corners we got, the back corners are already in and the fronts will be soon (after he gets the floors restructured….)

Theres no video though, sorry.

I order two from Summit today and I will report my progress. I am not a talented fabricator.

Would your guy ever consider banging out two additional rear corners for some extra $$$?

And I love that video of the wildly skilled gentleman working those machines!!!

Got a left cab corner from Summit as above. Drivers rear corner completely cancered out, the wheelwell edge weak, the little interior floor partly gone. The passenger side wasn't as bad, original shape still intact. I didn't need the whole corner piece, so cut what I needed out of it.

At first it seemed like a perfect fit, but after getting a pre-fit done, I realized the shape wasn't really the same. The chevy corner is a fuller, bigger curve, where the original is more like a French curve line, noticeably trimmer and leaner. I kept going with the part, but had to section cut and bend the bottom (lots of jacking, pushing, gentle hammer massaaging) to get the shape right. I'm brazing, not welding
