After putting on 4 new leaf springs -- front and back -- the jeep is one inch lower in the rear. Can I make new shakes that are 2 inches longer than the stock to lift the rear one inch?

Hello Don. I wanted to jack up the back of my 63 Wagon so there would be more room for Snow Chains. I had made a pair of shackles in Metal Shop in HS and I used them for several years on my first car, a 1950 Chevy Coupe. I still have them and knew exactly where they were. I removed the old rear shackles and installed the ones that I made. They even had a height adjustment. Viola, it works and gave me more space for the snow chains. Here is a pic of my wagon with the new shackles on it. Pivnic
