Went on the Barrett-Jackson website tonight to see if there was any Willys vehicles in the auction this weekend. Found they sold a restored 1960 wagon for $19,250.00 today!!! I think I'll go out tomorrow and buy my '54 wagon a new can of wax and give it a hug!!!

They showed a hot rod wagon and a Jeepster that is yet to be auctioned. I'm curious to see what they sell for. Aren't we lucky to own such valuable machines?

Cheers,
Old Willy

My Willys Wagon is worth more than that...and I haven't got it on the road yet. Every penny, every hour I put into her is an investment for tickects on a carnival ride...

Good point. Let me change my first statement; I'm pretty sure no one would pay that much for my pickup :D

Thanks Pete, but I'll keep my "Super Valuable" '54. Should make you feel better about the deal you made on yours though.

Might be a good idea to download the auction listing so you can show it to the wife as you pump money into the wagon. "But honey---Look what this thing is worth!!!!"

Gotta go now and pry my tongue outta my cheek!!!!

$19,000 plus...hmmmm..around these parts (upstate NY) you cant give these old trucks away..unless you are trying to buy one and then the seller thinks he has rust covered GOLD....Kinda funny when you are trying to sell one of these trucks nobody wants it..but when you finally find something you like the guy selling it wants a ton of money...darn Willys Jeep's cant live with them cant live without 'em...

I just got home from work so I went to the Barrett-Jackson website to see how the other two Willys did in the auction. The 1955 hot rod Wagon with a 302 Ford brought $17,600.00. The restored '48 Jeepster got $28,600.00. Where does all the money come from?

Add the $19,250.00 that the '60 Wagon brought the other day and you've got $65,450.00 for 3 Willys vehicles!! But I guess they are still bargains because I saw a '57 Chevy go for $80,000.

As I watch the auction, I wonder if I'm looking at a room full of mafia bosses and drug cartell leaders. I wonder if the IRS watches and takes notes too.

Happy Spending,
Old Willy
