Willys Year:
The Kaizer-Eilin assembly plant in Israel worked from 1951 to 1969.
The Willys line made the Willys Ero for exporting and panels, wagons and pickups.

1969 wasn't that long ago, I wonder what their production numbers where and where are the die-stamps for those rear quarters are? I would have like to see more production plant and less bs....thanks for posting.

The die-stamps Probably recycled and gone long ago. As much as I know the Metal parts manufactured in a plant in Ashkelon. When Eilin close the factory, he was forced to sold the plant in Ashklon to the government and they produced military items. [Its still there: http://www.ashot.co.il]

This is a great video. I liked seeing all the subtle differences in the wagons.

Very cool! I love old videos like this. Thanks for posting it. At first I didn't know where this little get together in the living room was going. :?

It sure would be a dream come true to find a stash of original dies so somebody could start making new bodies and parts. Can you imagine how cool that would be?

Did you notice that the hood slammed shut like modern rigs? And that it didn't require side hood latches? And the speedometer numbers are cool. 0-14.

What other differences did you notice?

Great to see some vintage Willys vehicles when they were new. It looks like my door mirror brackets and location are probably original. I hadn't seen any others like them on a truck or wagon before.

Yea, wasn't that the weirdest thing. Haven't you ever been stuck in a traffic jam and felt like breaking out in song with a 3 foot harmonica that ya carried in your back pocket?

Unfortunately they cut the ending off. That was a harmonica band warming up for the wedding reception they were playing but were now late for.

The Willys driver offers to take them "Overland" in the sedan delivery to avoid the traffic jam. They all pile in, demonstrating the commodious interior and hauling capacity and head off-road in low range to the reception.

The party was saved and many new customers were created. ;)
