What exactly does this go to?

I agree with @Willysjeepman; an aftermarket grille guard for a wagon or pickup. Could be fabricated by anyone with a bender (Hossfeld etc) and a welder. I'd rate it as a pretty good job.

I don't think so. Wall or lawn art maybe. No reason to put the pointy part in for a grille guard. Especially with the flat horizontal plate in back of the top Vee. It would look stupid mounted that way. Not heavy enough either.

I'd rate it as fair at best.

There's a picture of a similar one out there in image land that is a variant of this one, but with a large "WO" symbol incorporated into the slats.

If I recall correctly, it had a tag wired to it and it was claimed to be some aftermarket N(very)OS.

Can't seem to turn it up...

I know what you're referring to but couldn't find it either. I think we agreed that it was some sort of promo item.

I like the word JEEP spelled out on top too!

Looks like it would have to replace the grill the way the top (under "JEEP") has a solid triangle, and the center bottom has a hole that seems like it would coincide with the center mount of a stock grill/rad.

Looks like a grill brush guard.
Keep those dents off the front grill and hood while bushwacking.

Probably more show then go.
But cool still.

It would make a great wall hanger with an old spare grill behind it.
Let me know if you want to sell it.
