So as of today it is offical the four door is gone and I already got her replacement. I need to go over in a week or two and bring the new one home. So heres a picture of the new one and for some reason I always end up with a railroad truck. This one is a 57 Fairmont Pickup. not sure what one A,B or C but the price was right and I got a butload of spare parts sitting in the trailor from the last parts spree. There is No front axle or suspension and the drivetrain is missing but I got most of that floating around or will have when I bring it home. For those that may question the picture no you are not seeing things it is a foot or so longer than a regular truck and that is a tool box behind the cab infront of the bed. The bed is still standard length. Hopefully I will not have nearly as many problems with this one as I had with the four door. I will update later So for know keep the wrenches turning and the beer cold as I hope one day to actually have one I can drive.

Cool, looking forward to your updates.

Good bit of work ahead of you on that project. Keep us in pics, interested in a good side view of the tool box.

Will get more pictures of it when I go to pick it up. I am headed to Missoula on my days off about a parts truck and will do a turn and burn getting it back to the house. I will be going down to get it on the 28th -29th and will upload more pictures after those days and I get it home.
yep I know there is alot of work on it but it's an odd truck so I figure it will be worth putting back on the road

A Tool Box infront of the bed??? what a super idea !!! Rare option I'll bet.

Well I got it home and it's still on the trailor. Spent 24hours on the road and sliding a front axle under it to get it loaded. I will add pictures when I get it off the trailor. Thinking it is a 51 but don't have a vin plate to use just the fairmont tag. The tool box on the back appears to be half box and half tire carrier. Probably going to be slow on the updates till the end of the month as it is hunting season. There is no drivetrain in it right now but I have a trans and transfer and a half rebuilt 226. some of theweird stuff i found I will take pictures of. The front shocks are actually on the inside of the frame. I have brackets right behind the cab for the highrail equipment. The tag reads that it is an a30a Fairmont. the rear bumper area was replaced with a single tube somewhere down the line and the front has a piece of u shaped iron the looks like I can drive it through a house.
