I have a 59 Wagon with a T90. I'm finishing a rebuild on the tranny and will be replacing the transmission cross member with one considerably less banged up than the one currently on it (it came with the wagon).

It doesn't have to be stock, but what reasonable options do I have for installing a transmission skid plate to a stock wagon cross member.

In an earlier posting, which I can't find right now, there was discussion about mounting the stock skid plate. As I remember there were tabs required on the cross member. I don't believe I have these tabs on either CM.
 
I think that was me talking about that. It's a customer of mine with a destroyed crossmember. The 4 cyl crossmember had tabs for a skid plate. The 6 did not. I have no idea why. All you would need to do is weld on some tabs to match the skid plate holes. An early Jeep wagon skid plate would work fine. Just match the holes. And use the correct carraige bolts going the right way.

My wagon was originally a 226, so it all makes sense now, thanks Greg.
