Spent about a year working on it, the acquired some kids that slowed my progress a lot.

Progress stalled for about a year, partly due to other projects, partly because there are enough parts needed to finish the truck that it was hard to get motivated.
Then I found a parts Willys. A wagon from the Oregon coast. They had washed the outside off sometimes so it looks OK from the outside. But the salt air on the inside ate the wagon out from the inside pretty bad. Driving it if you hit a pot hole parts of the lip where the roof line is fall off.
The wife decided if I was going to keep dragging home "ugly trucks" I needed to build a shop to work on them. So with permission put up a 30x40 shop to spread out my junk enough to work on it.1001101414-00.jpg[/attachment:2nz3dp2x]0413101120-02.jpg[/attachment:2nz3dp2x]PA290177.JPG[/attachment:2nz3dp2x]0913091939-00.jpg[/attachment:2nz3dp2x]

Right after finishing the shop found a Montana wagon that was in repairable condition.

Pulled the body off and cleaned and painted the frame. Cut out the floor rot and replaced with metal from a spare hood I had.

Started on the body work, found the previous owner was a dondo jedi. There wasn't any panel without bondo. There was some serious rot around the fenders also.

Some long hours with the stud gun, wire feed, and body hammers and it was starting to look like a steel Willys again.

With a little bit of bondo and some sanding it is taking shape.

Now I have the parts wagon brought in to start tearing it down for the parts needed to finish both projects. This is current to late Nov 2010.
I do get a few hours a week to work on it so it will continue to progress slowly.

Been fairly busy lately, not much for progress, but a few small items.1030101151-00.jpg[/attachment:1c0p8moz]1111101015-00.jpg[/attachment:1c0p8moz]1117101132-00.jpg[/attachment:1c0p8moz]

Started taking apart the donor wagon to make room and get the parts to finish the project. Sprayed a base coat of white on bottom of project to make sure the body is strait. Small spot on each side that needs a little more attention. Also got new wheels and tires for it. The wife bought me tires for Christmas. I think she likes me.1217101546-02.jpg[/attachment:snml5c4j]1117101133-00.jpg[/attachment:snml5c4j]1217101546-01.jpg[/attachment:snml5c4j]

I'm envious and dissapointed.... you live to far from me. You are working on "2" projects and I'm lucky to find time to work on one...being an outside project for me. Your workmanship is fantastic and I could have used that hood you cut up for floor pans. I look forward to more pictures....great job! :thumbupleft: :thumbupleft: :thumbupleft:

I wish I only had the projects to work on sometimes. Working full time, side jobs when they come up, the wife and currently have three kids in the house, just not a lot of time to really get a lot done. I try to sneak out to the shop for about two hours a day to keep my sanity. Been busier on my side work than the wagons the last six weeks, but that makes for some Christmas money. Yes, it is quite a drive from Georgia to the top of Idaho. The hood I used had the worst damage of the couple hoods I had on hand. When I get done parting out the donor wagon I will still have three hoods an two vehicles. The project wagon came with a hood as the only piece of front end sheet metal. The paint for the two tone just showed up today. Need to finish the body work so I can see how it looks on the wagon.

Started taking motor apart to change stretched timing chain and clean it up. Two days into scraping grease and putting everything that will fit into the parts washer. Wire brush and brake parts cleaner cleaning the block. Not going to remove the head, can still see crosshatch in the bottoms of the cylinders and it has great power when the timing is right. The stretched chain makes it hard to keep timed so it is going away. Wanted to leave the timing cover and valve cover bare aluminum, but the timing cover has old gold paint on it, and I am going to have to be carefull cleaning it, not a lot of 6-230 parts around to risk it.

Also still working on little spots on both sides and trying to level the front fenders. I straitened the fenders and welded up the cracks then when put on the wagon they were noticably tipped differently, the drivers side sloping down and the passengers sloping upward. Going to leave it under tension for a day or two and see if it sits slightly uphill like the other.
