"66 corvair steering column installed. Has built in turn signals, but I think it looks better than the usual gm tilt column. I found a horn button from some willys car at a swap meet that fits it perfectly. This column came from the car that was totalled when someone crossed the center line and hit my wife head on. It still has a slight bow in it where her cheek hit it. I think I might keep it to remind me to be carefull.
I will add more as things progress. So far this was a good weekends work.

I'm so, so envious,... but happy to see your progress. I won't be to far behind you starting my second rebuilt wagon. Thank you for pasting your pictures as well and any explanations...the diesel engine swap interest me and steering box set up...Keep up the progress.

Looking forward to your progress updates-

Pete

Interesting placement for the brake booster and retain the original pedals. Beggars shouldn't gripe, a picture is a picture, but I'm having a hard time seeing the detail, perhaps during the daytime. Keep us up-dated, I'm hoping to be right behind you on my Willys....

Overdue for an update,ABCD0002.JPG[/attachment:21lctok8]ABCD0003.JPG[/attachment:21lctok8]

Vintage P51 mustang tach. I had to convert it from electric motor drive to cable driven, but it was to cool to pass up.

Engine and trans. installed, motor mounts and trans. crossmember built. Had to massage the firewall a bit to allow for valve cover removal and will have to raise the tranny tunnel a bit, but it all went in easier than expected.

looking very cool. I like the deisel idea and keeping the stock pedals as well. I thought about it on mine, but went lazy and put the booster on the firewall.

I read through your build a while ago and it was one of the best out of the many that are online, and I think I read all of them that the internet has to offer! Your budget is way larger than mine. Last time I bothered to add it up I was less at than $2000.00 total. Bodywork is the next real big item.
And I finally bought a new camera battery. So as soon as Amazon delivers the picture quality will improve.

I feel some LOVE here....wish I lived closer...240D? what are you hooking it to?
