Another member on here (Randy P) coached me through it , not too tough. Remove the clips from the rear portion of the opening , use the rubber gasket originally intended for the rear window and install full piece of laminated glass. You will also need to come up with some sort of spacer for between the gasket and the interior trim piece, I believe Randy used wood, I used 3/4” rubber O-ring material. I can provide a glass template like Randy did for me. This spacer was the hardest part for me. I’ll include a couple of pics, let me know if you want a template for the glass.

I like your O-ring spacer idea!

It worked pretty well Randy, it’s fairly dense foam and maintains some pressure for the gasket to body seal. It is called sponge O ring cord 3/4” and fairly pricey at 2.98 per ft. but was a simple solution.

I would like to get a template of the glass and any more information you can give me on installing the glass. You can give me a call at 1-765-473-1412. Ron Porter.
Hey Ron, I just saw your note above. Looks like Roger has addressed your request. Let me know if I can help too.

Gents, Great solution. I did this a many years back as I did not like the poor locking feature of the sliding window etc. I think I used sections of radiator hose to shim the glass properly.
As noted in the thread the rear window weather stripping works perfectly for solid glass middle window.

If anyone else is considering doing this I have the solid glass middle window and new weather stripping available as my wagon is now open air.

Hey Ron,

Let me take a photo or two and send them. I have tinted glass for both the rear and side windows per the earlier photo.

I would be interested in the weather stripping. What tint is the glass?

Hi Ron,

Here are some photos of window tint... (not super dark) and weather stripping
Is the tint in the glass? Will I be able to match when I order the new glass? Is the tint called smoke? Get back with me and let me know how much. You can give me a call at 1-765-473-1412. Ron
