made a huge score today , bought a dana44 front axle with disc brakes and 4:10 gears and a 10 bolt rear end with 4:10 gears , $70 dollars . the guy was impressed my 15 yearold is building his first ride, he threw in a mastercylnder/brakebooster from his stash of parts and offered us help with any thing we needed. how awesome is that ..... good things come when you take your time and read ads on craig list daily.... now im starting my search for saginaw steering box and chevy steering column... have fun with yalls builds i sure am.. father son fun is in full effect...... Hey Russell-

Any updates on your father/son project? Curious how your axle swap is coming along...

Just an FYI, the Chevy front 44's are extremely wide. And unless you want the entire tire sticking out past the fender, you will need to narrow it. But it's much easier to just get your hands on a Wagoneer 44. They are perfect width. Plus, if you get the right one, it will be 6 lug just like the rear 10 bolt.

You may already have a plan for this, but just in case... Before you get too far down the road, check it out. I think it will be at least 7" too wide.
