That is looking great. I really like the painted up engine. Bet you can't wait to hear it purr.

That's looking really, really good, Greg. Hopefully, I'll be catchin' up to ya, shortly. :D

Did you get a kit and do the engine yourself? I can't remember. If not, what shop did you use? I only ask, because I used to live there in Rancho Cordova years ago. I have some other friends out that way as well, so I like to keep track of places. :)

Will you be able to post video of it when you fire her up?

Have not done any mechanical work to engine. Picked her up in pieces. The engine and tranny were only things without inches of mud or grease. Engine block and head appeared to have recently painted. Pulled pan, bottom end looked really good and have found silicone gasket sealer so have "assumed" it has been a rebuilt. We'll see when I fire her up....I'll post video if she doesn't misbehave...

The rest has been stripped to chassis, cleaned and painted. I've redone brakes from MC to shoes, distributer, generator etc...
I will shortly be posting some pictuires of parts that I can't figure out where they go, hoping someone recognizes and can help me get them in the right place.

I use REM Roseville Engine Machine for most of machine work. Collin Box is just a wealth of information and a kick to deal with. Just need to be patient - 10 days... two weeks max

Homewood, I thought you went into hibernation on us...just to find out you have been busy but not posting...project look's sickly...keep at it kid, I look forward in watching your progress.....nicely done!

Hey Greg

Now that is one clean 226 engine. Mine should be so nice. I never knew they could look so good. I always thought Willys were supposed to be rusty and drippy and stuff like that. What are your plans when you get her (or is it a him??) up and running??

Looks awesome Greg, nice work... :thumbupleft:

That's looking terrific. Makes me want to get going on mine, sadly no door on shop and 3 degrees tonight. But thanks for the motivation, it will get warmer soon and I'll be ready. Keep up the good work. Post those pictures of the questionable parts, I am sure that someone here can help you out.
