I am doing a rebuild on the steering of a 1962 station wagon worm gear. the one I pulled out was missing a chunk from the worm gear, probably hit a curb.
My question, does anyone know the specs on the length of the worm gear shaft. I got mid-west harry to send me one that he picked but it came in at 51 inches and the one I pulled was 44" At this point I'm at a loss, besides getting in machined. Please advise..
