Bigger Hammer
Hello every body the PAPAS34 is my old CB handle and personalized plate on my 34 Ford hotrod....so if you see a black 34 with that plate it's me.
On to Willy's......I've lived in Utah most of my 55 years.
I was about 5 years old when I was first introduced to Willy's by my dad and uncle, both who were also into oldschool hotrods.
My dad always had a Willy's truck with a 283 chevy which was otherwise stock, I drove it when I first got my drivers license and my uncle had an old wagon that I remember riding around town in with a bunch of cousins...he later got into International Scouts....poor fool.... still misses his wagon.
I have owned a dozen or so Willy's, a few cj5's, a great Commando........and many other old cars and trucks most of which were hotrodded in one way or another, still have 13 and one nice 1951 Willy's flatbed. I even once owned a 1942 Ford produced Jeep.
The 51 is mostly stock with 4cyl,T-90...the only modification I can find is a one-wire 12 volt alternator and a lot of burnt out bulbs....lol !!! I bought it a few month ago and so far have only driven it home to put away till I decide what I'll do with it.
I've been looking at some of the things you guys have done to you rides......I have a parts car with chevy adapters and could easily go that way..... my dads truck ran for decades as a daily driver with T-90 283 and only broke thing when my younger brother got into a drunken tug of war with a 390 ford 4x4.
I drove the V-6 odd fire Buick powered Commando for years and loved it both on the freeway and in the mountains here in Utah...it was really good in the deep snow, just a bit heavier than a CJ-5.
I also like the K-5 Blazer thing...would miss the whin, but think I could get over that pretty fast.
I also have a 331 Hemi that could be a bit different if anyone know how to do that!!
Time will tell
Great site glad I found you all.
