Hello,
What a find. Glad to find this forum. Old Willys, regardless of model have so much in common. Help can come from anyone with these wonderfull of trucks. My Jeep history started with a 1963 CJ 5 back in high school. That was a long time ago. Folks sold it when I went to college - never forgave them ;-) In college I purchaced and rebuilt a 1953 M38 making it into more of a 12V civilian model. Drove that until wife number one said we had to have a "real" car. I did not forgive her. One of my roommates had a great 1951 wagon and another a CJ 2. Good stuff back then.
This Fall a CJ 3A showed up on the radar. After some phone calls and negotiations it moved from Southern Minnesota to my Twin Cities Garage. This project will be one to bring it back very close to factory delivered. I've been lucky as it came here from Texas and has not been altered, chopped up, repowered etc... Just left as a Jeep. I've started collecting known parts that need replacement and making plans for this summer.
Nice to find this group. Look forward to sharing information. Fred Holzapfel
