Hello! just joined with a 1950 (its actually a 1949) willys pickup and a 1950 jeepster in my garage. I saw a post/link by KLankford a while back on how to install a voltage regulator and test gauges when switching to 12volt. it wouldnt let me open it since i wasnt a member. Any help in finding this? thanks!

Tom, you're gonna have to gain another twenty years before claiming to be older than dust around here. We have members that I swear, first off roaded in Connestoga wagons.

Welcome to the forum. Awe fond memories or Lewistown. I was working south of Malta and driving to Oregon for Christmas when my transmission gave out just outside of Lewistown. A rancher stopped and towed me to his place, They fed me supper and put me up for the night and then took me into the Chevy dealer in town. Had a new tranny and on my way that day. That was 50 years ago and no I wasn't in a Connestoga wagon. :D I miss Montana

Welcome aboard Tom. I spend several years working with the SCS in Lewistown when the flood control dams were designed and built in the early 70's and was through there on a regular basis for a number of years while working on some projects at Zortman. Enjoyed my time there.

And only two horsepower.

Grandpa's had 2 ox power. Torque-y, but slow.
But that was a stock setup. You could add a 3x2's set up (like on a 67 GTO) that would give you a Wheel team, a Swing team, and a Lead team, BUT that would ruin your grass mileage.

OTOH, It would still be slow. Yet, it would triple the torque. It might increase the range though.

Add another wagon or two & up the payload!;)

Welcome from Northern Californai Sierra Mountains.
No Joe. My Father was born in a Conestoga wagon crossing Oklahoma Indian Territory. I grew up 4 wheeling in a 36 Pontiac with the top cut off and 4 ft cut out of the middle, no doors, no seat belts, no roll bars and Farm implement tires on the back..
