I'd like to re-visit this topic; I inquired back in 9-17 but now I'm at the point where I need four good brake drums if I'm going to continue driving this baby ('53 Aero Falcon).

I read a post from Glennstin who said drums from a 55-65 DJ3A will work. Haven't seen these on eBay recently.

Any help appreciated!

DJ3A drums do fit but last time I looked, they're as hard to find as ones listed as Aero drums. About equally scarce are International Scout 2WD 4 lug front drums, same as Aero fronts. Those little US Postal Jeeps from the 60's had the same drums for a while, might be the best way to search. Fronts always seemed a lot scarcer than rears when I was regularly scanning for parts. Best bet may be some parts car take-offs that are still in spec.

Don't know if this might be helpful, but an NOS set of fronts I sold that were in Bendix (brake parts) boxes had "60044" on them, the actual drums were cast by Century (brake parts) and had "C 23021" cast in the edges. Another NOS set of Century rears now on my car had "C 2301" cast in them.

The Topeka, KS Craigslist has a couple of front fenders off a 1953 Aero listed in auto parts. Not sure if they would have any other parts but it might be worth a text/call. It's a long way from you but if they are that hard to find....it might be worth pursuing.

I have front and rear off my 53 aero no hubs I live in utah cs_green3@msn.com

I wonder if there would be anyway of finding them in South America (Brazil)? They made the Aero well into the late 60's there.

It's been a while since I measured an Aero drum but I think they are 9 inch diameter, definitely not 11

Maybe an idea?
I shipped an Aero steering knuckle, spindle, hub, wheel & hubcap assembly to Scarebird a few years ago and he came up with a bracket that replaced my back plates and accepted Honda rotors (same bolt pattern) & Chev S-10 4WD calipers, and I still run my stock wheels. We made a trade & he kept the parts for future use.
I've been running mine and they work perfectly.
I see on another forum a guy doing a restomod and he has a setup (photo with black caliper) from Scarebird with Thunderbird 4 bolt rotors & Celebrity calipers, so maybe Scarebird has a better design now, or that setup was needed for the guy to reverse his steering arms for a power steering ram I see in his photo (last photo)2016-10-24-03h18m00.JPG2016-10-24-03h18m15.JPG2016-10-24-06h14m14.JPG103586550_10158760382224734_8157922845024583247_o.jpg
