My Wagons ID?

I have not been able to locate any type of ID plate on my Willys wagon, but the title has the following number 4FR147989

Does this mean anything to anyone or is it a misprint on the title?

Where should I be looking for an ID plate?

It doesn't sound right to me...my VIN plates have always been on the drivers a pillar....and those numbers a wacky too...try www.wx4.org it might help you out....

The ID plate on my wagon is on the riser below the driver's seat near the door. It (the plate) faces the front of the vehicle. Two sequences of five numbers each. Hope this helps you out. Mines a '62, don't know about other years.
