My M38A1 in Virginia

I am new to Willys and Jeep ownership. I recently came across this vehicle for sale and fell in love with it.

Given that it has no rust, which I found quite impressive, I was wondering if you have any advice or insights regarding this vehicle. Is this a rare find?

Unrusted examples can be hard to find but the military took good care of them, generous layers of paint. I've had a couple since the late '70's. Heavy duty CJ-5. You have a good set up with the overdrive and narrow tires.

M38a1's were 24v. If your a1 is 12v, examine very carefully how well (or poorly) someone in the past converted the Jeep to 12v. The a1's had a whole mess of differences between them and CJ's.

Welcome to OWF! Nice find; my first Jeep was a M38A1 from a military school that took great care of it (I know, I went to the school). Do you know any history of your Jeep? Could be fun to find out.
Does it have the original 4 cylinder? If so, post up a few pics.
BTW, when folks say it's a heavy duty CJ-5, it really is: boxed frame and thicker body metal to start.
