Willys Year:
Greetings All,

I am new to the site and to the Willys world. Loved them ever since i was a kid and always wanted one. Now i am the proud owner of an all original (so far) 1949 Station Wagon, 2wd, 4cyl.

Luckily there is not too much to be done. That's the way i see it, but the wifey would beg to differ...

I am stoked to finally get one and lucky to get one in this shape. I came close to buying a few others in a bit worse shape before getting this one. Have to thank the misses for talking me down from those purchases. Had the blinders on a bit and just wanted to get one so bad.

I think i will wait a few years before getting into it. It's all there and everything works except for the wipers... so no rush (never rains in Vegas). Do need seat belts though.49 front.JPG[/attachment:2e6400i7]49 driverside.JPG[/attachment:2e6400i7]49 passside.JPG[/attachment:2e6400i7]49 interior.JPG[/attachment:2e6400i7]49 interior Front.jpg[/attachment:2e6400i7]

Nice... Very nice.

You're in Vegas and the rig has Montana plates? The rig I found in Montana didn't look like that

As long as you're in Vegas, if you need local help, Jake at Back Country Off Road, Polaris just north of Spring Mountain is a great guy and a good man to know if you have an old Jeep. I don't mean to plug a non-sponsor, so if you go there, encourage him to become a sponsor :D

Oh, and I think I may want your driveway -- I see you have my favorite era of GM pickup in the background...

Welcome aboard.

Welcome to the forum Ed.

Nice find, there was one identical to it for sale here in Idaho this spring that I thought seriously about. If it had been 4wd, I would have gone for it.

All of my wife's family is in Vegas, I'm down there three or four times a year. I'd like to check out your wagon next time I get down there.

Pete

PS, I moved your thread to the Intro section...

Thanks for the welcome and for moving to proper location.. saw that after i posted..

Wagon is legal, got it registered on Saturday. Puttered around the neighborhood, not wanting to stray too far... Sweet ride! Love it!

Once i get some me time, i can go through it and check everything. Been reading original owners manual, found it in the glove box. Never sat and read though an owners manual before.. this one is interesting. Not like the one for my 09 F150... it's a fricken novel...

Great looking wagon! I can't understand the wife wanting to change it but I am sure I will be fighting that battle myself soon. Enjoy!

I love it....great survivor...leave the paint alone and drive it - ENJOY!
Welcome to the forum too!

Nice car! I only wish my '49 2wd was that nice to start... I've got a '49 6cyl stashed in the barn until this daddy's done paying tuition bills, meanwhile lots of ideas & inspiration here thanks to Pete & you all keepin' up the good work!

i feel ya on the tuition. I too am in that boat. that is what is putting my restore on hold as well.. Assume you're paying for college... i am paying for 1st grade... so yeah got a bit to go.. glad mine it is all in one piece, runs and just need TLC..

Got seatbelts in "The Dude", wags name for now. Wifey calls it the wedge... She'll come around. She actually went for a ride in it last week...

Hi Ed:

That '49 is a beauty. I wish I had a 2 WD one with O/D. I hope you decide to keep it sort of original - ?
