Hello fellow Jeepsters...

I am having a hell of a time find parts. My current hang up is finding a 6 volt 50# oil sending unit. Everything I find has the wrong bolt size for the block.

Any suggestions???

Thanks

I have a 12 volt F-161. Anything to do with plumbing has been a real chore. I now have a box of various adapters that don't fit anything I currently own. I robbed a fitting from an F-134 for my oil sender that works well. Eventually I went over to AN fittings and those get it done. Not stock, but no leaks.

Different machines same principle. We have been having a hell of a time getting sensors and other things that thread into ports for out dozers, excavators and back hoes. John Deere doesn't use the same thread pitch and dia as Cat. Komatsu, Extec, and Mahindra use ???? (Every machine seems to be different).
We have gotten really good at fitting brass adapters between the sensor we can get, and where it needs to go. ( I like to use brass because i think it seals up better/easier, and it won't "rust" into anything steel or cast).
If you have a "good" hardware store in your area. Walk in with the old one and the new one. The adapter you need, (or end up making from pieces), would have a male end matching your old unit, and a female end for your new unit to thread into.
I know it is not a "concourse restoration" solution. I know the right part would make it A LOT easier.
Its what we have been doing for a few months to keep our equipment moving, and keep people working.

Sidenote, we do not alter the original ports or wiring, we build adaptors to match them. That way, when we get the "right parts" the OE connections are unaltered and ready to be used.
