Hi Gang. Joined the forum on a quest: I'm hoping to find a restorer who specializes in Willys Pickups. I have a 62 that we are still using in the woods, and have for a long time (20 yrs) fantasized about restoring or having restored. Best bet for me is the second. So, I'm starting to look for a restorer in the Northeast. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Welcome. I can't recommend anybody but my family used to have a cabin right on Blue Mt. Lake. My Father sold it in 1968. It's still there but the boat house fell down many years ago.

It's between Hemlock Hall and the steam liner on the shore under the big white canopy. The property was / is called Stepping Stones.

I think we have some of your chairs on our patio! Get it? Adirondacks chairs ? Hello? Anyone?, never mind. I don't think you need a specialist, just someone who restores vehicles. You should be able to find them on the comp., and go look at their work first before considering them for your build.

@dahreno: Have you paid your annual tax to the residents of the Adirondack Park for the use of those chairs on your porch? If not, let me know and I'll stop by to collect it and give you a "paid" sticker. :)

Hey I still have some antique furniture from the cabin. Does that mean I owe back taxes as well?

Is there any way you can farm out some of the work to local body shops? I guess it also depends on how far you want to go with a resto?

Only the furniture items labeled "Adirondack" are taxable, Ken. But if you want to be safe, I'll send you my address and you can send a check. We, umm, offer discounts if you pay ahead a few years... :)
Of course I can farm stuff out and use local shops for various pieces of this, I'm looking for someone who does these vehicles regularly and has a passion for them.
