I am down near Charlotte, getting started on restoring my 49 3A.
I've owned a number of jeeps before, various CJ's and YJ's, XJ, MJ, TJ, and a few others. I also have a ~49 2A in rough shape I'm picking parts off.
I'm concentrating on my CJ3A, which I verified was produced in late December 1948 or early January 1949, depending on any holiday breaks at the plant. Serial Number 609, Body Tag Number 629. I used Bob Westerman's book, and ran a few details by him via email.
The original color (after removing some firewall brackets) appears to be Emerald Green. After seeing some excellent specimens in this color, I'm definitely going to repaint it the same color moving forward.
Most everything is original, I'll be aiming to keep most of it the same way. I paid $300 for the entire jeep, including a valid title in the correct SN. The sale also included a Bantam TC-3 in really rough shape, which I promptly sold for... $300!
