I did a search and found nothing on this. Is there a trick to getting the brushes to stay in place while reinstalling the armature? This has me scratching my head. The motor sounded like a monkey and a cat in a death match so I took it apart to clean and lube the bushings. Thanks.

I think that those ( some)brush holders have a small hole in the that you can stick a toothpick or small wire in to hold the brushes back til you get it together. Then pull the wires/ toothpicks out.
Indeed they do. I totally missed that. Looks like a couple of pieces of mig wire should do the trick nicely. Thanks! And Happy Thanksgiving!

Good deal. While you were in there, did you clean the armature?
