Progress! You are nearly there.

That lock/latch looks exactly like the one I have.

Do you need a picture of the striker plate? I may go over today and re-install my latch so I could get a pic.
 
Thanks. I've seen photos of the striker plate on the forum. If you could give me a couple measurements that would help. I tried one from an old T-bird but the hump was way too high and deep.

If you have a measurement on the rubber bumpers thatwould help too. Thank you very much.

I balked at the price of a new glove box. So I went with the fifty caliber ammo box idea. I don't have pic's yet as it is a work in progress.

I did have to cut out an area in the top right to clear the cowl brace.

I have, I think 3 of the holes drilled with riv-nuts installed for the screws.

I machined a few spacers since the box is about an inch taller than the opening.
