I'm not the doing the build, but we saw the truck today and Robyn took some pictures so I thought I'd share.

Joey thought the engine was ugly so this:


Weirdly as I look through the rest of the pictures there are none of the engine, I guess she agreed!

I do like the look of the mini running boards between the cab and rear fenders. I wonder why they were dropped when the pointy nosed bodystyle came to be.

And they’re really needed when trying to reach something below the cab window…

I think it would feel uncomfortable to me, to have the accelerator pedal to the left side of the steering column. Great looking build.

Wow, this truck is so fast it has a 15 MPH head start.

Since it's a GPS speedo, I assume it was pointing there when power was disconnected. There are no springs in electronic gauges so nothing to make it return to zero.

If you look at some modern vehicles you might on occasion see a key on a gauge needle sweep all the way to max speed and then back to zero. Traditionally it happened only the first time you powered up the cluster but someone thought it was cool, so in some cars it happens every start.

I believe they do that so if the needle fell to the right side when traveling and first being installed that it would correct itself at key on, otherwise it would stick there to you passed some speed just past 180 degrees from the max speed setting.

My Gps does the full start sequence( 0 to max and back)

Since this on has never been driven, who knows what's been done. What if you turn off the key after it's swept all the way to max?

No, something is wronr, it always powers up does a full sweep and stops at 15. I will have to call Speedhut and ask.

Not even thought about it. I'm sure it will be an easy fix, but I'm spending all my time and effort rewiring our new building. Mostly just removing old cloth insulated wire that goes nowhere useful and vacuuming the rafters to try and remove most of the 70 years of dust that's accumulated up there.
