I pulled the gas tank on my 63 Waggy so I could weld in some new upper shock mounts. As long as it’s out I’m feeling like I should give it a good clean up. It’s not awful. Very little rust actually, just more dirty than anything. What is everybody’s favorite method? In the past I have taken real bad tanks to the radiator shop and had them soak in a hot tank overnight but I’m not sure this one needs that. Thanks.

I bought this kit several years ago and have used on three GPW gas tanks and a couple of oil bath air cleaner cups since then with great results. I also intend to use it on my wagon tank (if it hasn't spoiled by then) when I finally get back to that project. The most important thing, if you're not using it all at once (I got the gallon) is to keep the can open for as hort a time as possible (only a few seconds to get what product you need, and no longer) and to lay a sheet of saran wrap over the can before putting the lid back on. Not doing so will ensure that it all spoils in a short period of time, plus you won't be able to ever get the lid off if you don't. https://por15.com/products/fuel-tank-repair-kit
