cab interior ?

Has anybody installed a headliner in a pu,or know what the original headliner was like on a '55 pu? .I just got a kit from Willys America and it has the edges but nothing for the dome(roof),what they sent is nice,think maybe I will try to fab the top.....Jim

I have a 1960 willys truck, I was inside of it on Sunday, I dont think there is anything on the top of the roof. If my memory serves me right all there is ; is a cardboard type thing about 6" or so wide that sorta runs around the edge of the roof. I do remember my dome light is mounted over the windshield in the cardboard and not into any kind of steel. You got me thinking now....i may have to go out tonight and look. Maybe a call to Mark Tolman at Bennett Hill services in Maine. He has more willys trucks than anybody I have ever seen.

Mike's description sounds like what is left in my '51. I don't think the trucks had full headliners, just some trim around the front and sides.

That is correct. The older trucks had a headliner, then they went to the 4 piece edge trim you mention. I don't remember the exact year, but I think it corresponded with the style change after 50 1/2 or 51.

If anyone has pattern to creat full headliner I'd be interested.
Want stock resto but will be adding dynamat for sound deadening and some insulation to floors/firewall/doors/roof...

Thanks for the help guys,guess I'l try to make something,possibly some of the same fabric used in heavy equipment for sound and insulation,fit it and glue it directly to the roof,if I do it I'l trace it out for a pattern if don't turn out to ugly.....Jim
