On my '62 wagon there is gas seepage, where it connects to the manifold.

I rebuilt the carb it several years ago and I recently started it again.

Any suggestions?

When it's running? Odd place for gas to seep. Clean the area and watch real close. Is it coming out the throttle shaft holes?

There's vacuum in the manifold, so if the base gasket is bad it should suck, so to speak.

Sometimes the gaskets we buy are to thin. You can buy thicker gaskets to make up for whatever gaps might cause the leakage. I just did that with a Transmission Pan Gasket. Whatever it is, fix it. We don't want you to have a fire. It only takes a hot manifold and a little bit of gas to go up in flames.
