This looks like a fun event!
I was living in PA when I bought my '73 Superjeep, and got involved with local off-roaders. Back then, public trails were few and far between in my area of the keystone State. Let's face it, development started in the early 1700's!
But I do remember going to a private tract of trails and it was past Hershey (yes, of chocolate fame and the whole town smells like it). Spent a weekend up there camping and "wheelin", had a blast but moved to CA a short time later so never went back. I wonder how long the AOAA park has been around? I moved to CA in '74...

I was not aware of the place personally, off the website:

Property Conservation

The majority of the property the AOAA now leases/owns was mined in the 1950s and was not reclaimed until recently. While the land sat vacant for decades, it was used by many as a dumping ground. Since securing lease/ownership rights to the property, we have partnered with a variety of organizations to make the property safe and clean.

AOAA Authority

The Northumberland County Anthracite Outdoor Adventure Area (AOAA) Authority was formed in January of 2013 to address the issue of illegal riders on the 7,500 acres of county owned forest and coal lands by providing a safe, regulated riding area – a better experience for everyone.

Had fun there on Sunday. It was nice talking to the jeep guys. There was actually 3 different M38's there, I was able to get some good pictures for reference for my build. I also got some needed measurements for my "impossible to find" M38 battery mount.

Awesome to hear. I caught up with Mike from OK4WD on email and he said the weather was great and they had 28 Jeeps on Saturday.

Sounds like a great 1st time turn out for Saturday's ride.
