I recently bought a 2bbl manifold setup from Midwest Willys to mount my Carter WCD 2204s and the heat riser port on the exhaust manifold part # 735367 has a bolt in it as pictured below.

Am looking for advice and photos to work out how Heat Riser line that has the webbing heat shield on it that connects from the Carburetor Choke to the heat riser port on the exhaust Manifold.

  • It looks like a std metal line from the automatic choke similar to the fuel and vacuum lines in the example below from another post but how does it actually connect at the manifold or does the line just pass through the heat riser in the manifold and exist the other side?

  • Also is the end of the line capped or filtered to prevent Vacuum leakage and dirt or just and open tube that inducts heat into the Thermostatic Carburetor Choke assembly?

Thanks

Doug

It just sticks in the hole maybe 1/8 to 1/4 inch. I'll go snap a pic after dinner. Sorry, stomach comes first.

Thanks did you ever get your linkage question resolved I read your post from 2015 and came across this the return spring mounts from the drivers side of the head to the clip on the coil bracket on the setup I have.

Pas you can see, it only goes is a little way.

not sure why that second pic is distorted. Looks fine on my iPad.

I think the idea is the tube going all the way thru the manifold causes it to heat up and rise up the tube. I don't think there is an engine vacuum going on there.

Thanks that really helps, any idea what the cloth webbing is made from can probably find something at my local exhaust place.

Assume it is likely an Asbestos sleeve from that era for anyone reading this thread in the future I purchased a NOS "Champ 120600" Choke repair kit (120800 is similar) which comes with a similar sleeve on ebay.
